Elephants are a very important part of the African eco-system, clearing thick bush so that other creatures can eat, and more plants can grow.

 

         
 
John Naylor's elephant research project aims to discover how much, and what kind of damage an elephant does to the bush it feeds on to give game conservationists a better idea of the amount of space each elephant needs to survive.
