Africa is home to many, very different types of birds. These birds are different in many ways.
The size and shape of a bird can tell us many things about how they live

The ground hornbill is the largest hornbill family. About the size of a turkey this bird does fly, but, prefers to wander about the bush in search of frogs, lizards and insects to eat.

African animals are very useful to birds in search of food. The Oxpecker gets his meal and helps the animals he sits on at the same time by picking off ticks and fleas...which the animals are only to glad to get rid of.

On the African savannah Secretary birds even
eat the eggs of other, ground-nesting birds like Plovers.
